ABOUT HOLLYWOOD PARK Hollywood Park, a near 300-acre sports and entertainment destination, is being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke with the 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium as its centerpiece. Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States. When complete, Hollywood Park will have up to 2,500 residences, a hotel, a retail district reaching up to 890,000 square feet, up to 5 million square feet of office space, and more than 25-acres of public parks and open space. Home to the Los Angeles Chargers and Super Bowl LVI Champion Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium is the host of world-renowned sporting events, including Super Bowl LVI in 2022, College Football Playoff National Championship game 2023, WrestleMania 2023, World Cup 2026, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics in 2028. Adjacent to the stadium and under the same roof canopy is a 2.5-acre open-air plaza, American Airlines Plaza, and the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater. YouTube Theater is an intimate venue, making it the perfect place for concerts, comedy, awards shows, esports competitions, community gatherings, conferences and more. THE INTERNSHIP At Hollywood Park, our primary objective for this internship program is to foster emerging talent while developing future leaders of the sports and entertainment industry. This is a paid opportunity for undergraduate juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who share our passion for creating extraordinary experiences. Interns will work with specific departments at our offices in Inglewood, CA and immerse themselves in a behind-the-scenes experience. By participating in this program, individuals will gain knowledge of the business, establish meaningful connections, and explore exciting career opportunities. Hollywood Park is in search of a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual who is interested in working within the heart of the sports and entertainment industry. As a Sustainability Intern, you can expect to become knowledgeable about sustainable event operations, work closely with internal departments, identify sustainable solutions as well as gain valuable, real-world experience in the sports and entertainment industry. Interns will gain firsthand experience in areas such as facility operations, social responsibility, and business analysis. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Track and analyze data across collection points such as Stadium Waste Recovery report, Energy Star Manager Portfolio dashboard, and ARC Play to Zero Platform.
  • Assist in the evaluation of waste management needs for each business scenario to effectively schedule solid waste collections and identify potential diversion opportunities.
  • Participate in the collection, separation, storage, and selling of commodities and work with Operations, Housekeeping, and Community Engagement departments to identify donation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, and Partnership departments as well as the Rams and Chargers NFL teams, sponsors, and other 3rd party parties to educate fans and the local community on sustainability initiatives.
  • Integrate new processes and procedures in accordance with the stadium's ISO 20121 certification.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Develop a strong understanding of sustainability operations such as training on waste sorting, interdepartmental collaboration on sustainable certifications, and internal/external team coordination within the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Enhance critical thinking skills in order to use best judgment to solve problems independently while accomplishing assigned goals and tasks.
  • Learn to effectively communicate cross functionally and build relationship skills with all applicable parties; e.g. internal departments, vendors, partners, and other 3rd parties.
  • Ability to work in a role that requires attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Obtain analytical skills to collect data, create baseline, and identify opportunities to improve sustainable event operations.
HOURS & DURATION
  • Part-time (24 hours per week); must be available to work at events, many of which occur on weekends and evenings, as directed by their immediate supervisors

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE WHO
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program as a junior, senior, or recently graduated
  • Pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Sports Management, or similar area of study
  • Must be able to travel to the YouTube Theater and SoFi Stadium offices in Inglewood, CA at least 2-3 times per week
  • Candidates with the following skill sets will be given special considerations:

Salary Range:
$19-$20/hour In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Hollywood Park considers a candidate's education, certification, prior experience, as well as internal and external data when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Only in exceptional circumstances, if an external candidate has the experience, credentials, or expertise far exceeding what is expected for the position, would Hollywood Park consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
